Affiliate disclosure

Watermark Remover earns a commission when you buy a watermark tool through some of the links on this site. It adds nothing to what you pay, and it is the only way the site is funded.

This page sets out precisely what that covers, on the principle that a vague disclosure is not a disclosure at all.

What actually earns us anything

Purchases of paid plans and licences made after clicking one of our partner links. Depending on the programme behind it, that arrives as a percentage of the sale, a recurring share of a subscription, or a flat bounty for a signup.

We earn nothing on free tiers, nothing on tools with no affiliate programme, and nothing on the official upgrade routes we recommend where the vendor runs no programme at all. Those still get recommended whenever they are the right answer, which on the app guides is most of the time.

Every partner link on this site passes through a `/go/` redirect and carries `rel="sponsored nofollow"`. Buttons opening a partner site say so in their accessible label, and every page containing one states it near the top rather than in the footer.

  • Partner links: all "Try", "Get" and "Claim" buttons, plus the tool names inside comparison tables
  • Not partner links: anything pointing at our own reviews, rankings and guides, and any link to vendor documentation or terms

What the money does not buy

Scores come out of a fixed test set before any commercial consideration exists anywhere in the process. No vendor can buy a position, a review, a higher number or an inclusion, and none has been offered one.

The practical proof sits in the rankings themselves. Tools with no affiliate programme appear in them, and tools paying well sit below tools paying nothing at all. If commission set the order, the order would look considerably different. The method behind it is on how we test watermark removers.

Directly with some vendors, and through the Impact, CJ, ShareASale, PartnerStack and MyCommerce networks for the rest. Cookie windows and commission models vary between programmes. None of that is visible to you and none of it changes what you pay at checkout.

If you would rather we earned nothing on your purchase, go to the vendor’s site directly and buy there. The recommendation on this site stands either way, because it was made before the link existed.

Why the disclosure sits at the top of the page

The FTC expects a disclosure to be clear, conspicuous and near the recommendation it relates to, rather than buried somewhere a reader has to go looking. That is why a line appears in the header area of every page carrying a partner link instead of only here.

It is also simply the honest arrangement. A reader deciding whether to trust a ranking should know how the site is paid for before they read the ranking, not after they have acted on it.
